WORLD FAITH MALAWI Partners in Faith and Action World Faith Malawi is an interfaith youth-led and not for profit organization cooperating with different religious youth groups, organizations and individuals in the pursuit of a just society. By this we mean a better quality of life for poor young people, as well as changes in attitudes and structures which perpetuate human suffering and injustice. World Faith Malawi was founded in May 2012 by like-minded youth leaders from different faith groups, such as Christian, Muslim, and Baha’i. The interfaith approach aims at creating an environment where religious diversity, love and mutual respect form a basis for social and economic transformation. WHERE AND HOW WE WORK World Faith Malawi strives to reach as many young people as possible both from rural and urban communities in order to actively involve them in issues that affect their quality of living. While many things have been achieved in the first years of freedom and democracy in Malawi, many challenges remain. The loss of jobs, lack of financing possibilities for small businesses on top of existing unemployment and the expanding HIV and AIDS pandemic make it difficult to fight poverty and underdevelopment. Environmental problems are increasing and lead to food shortage among young people who strongly depend on agriculture to earn their livelihood. World Faith Malawi wants to make a major contribution to fight poverty and social imbalances. Our mission is to facilitate, enable and equip youth from different religious groups with the skills they need to improve their own living conditions and empower their communities.
