An Irish Catholic boy and a Jewish girl become friends despite prevailing prejudicial winds in this innocent 1960 English drama.

Director Philip Leacock coaxes genuine performances out of Philip Needs and Loretta Parry as 7-year-olds Michael and Rachel.

They visit each other’s place of worship and, to their relief, aren’t struck dead.

It was a Golden Globe winner for best film promoting international understanding.
