We are excited to share a new project run by our chapter in Balochistan, Pakistan!

Beginning with a workshop in November the Youth Association for Development (YAD) launched a project aimed at youth training to help end early and forced marriages in their community. The day long sessions, spanning until September 2018, are run by a group of six volunteers and the director of World Faith Balochistan YAD.

The workshop consisted of activities and lectures on the damage that gender-based violence, particularly early and forced marriages, has on the community. They aim to convince all stakeholders that this problem must end through these one-day trainings. The one day workshops, which launched with 45 youth participants, help to build capacity for youth and caretakers to fight these human rights issues and the societal pressure that has sustained them.
