What if people across the globe pledged to join in prayer for just one minute at noon on the annual International Day of Peace (September 21)? In 2009, Odyssey Networks, America’s largest interfaith media coalition, asked that question and launched “A Million Minutes for Peace,” an online campaign aiming to unite the world in prayer for peace and over time to secure one million participants. The initial effort resulted in over 8,000 prayer pledges. This year that number increased tenfold, topping 100,000 pledges from people in 127 countries.
