Faith leaders and representatives of religious groups in London have come together for an important conference looking at how they might mobilise their communities and unlock civic potential in the capital.

The day-long event at Kings College was hosted by the Mayor of London Boris Johnson, who said:

‘London’s faith communities are a huge reservoir of goodwill and commitment with a vital role to play in helping young people to stay away from crime, realise their aspirations and achieve their potential. They offer support to the elderly and other vulnerable groups, as well as engendering community spirit, from volunteering and mentoring to philanthropic giving. These are issues that Londoners care about, so let’s harness this impulse for good, which will bring massive benefits for future generations in our city.’
