Last week, our Ouagadougou Chapter held the first session of the “Dialogue Between the State and Civil Society” in Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso. Ministerial government officials, religious leaders, and traditional leaders were invited to join the discussion with youth leaders in civil societies (CSO).
The session covered the finance challenges of CSOs, the governance in the CSOs, and a call for the government to provide funding for CSO programs that perform essential government functions.
Participating government officials promised to take the CSO’s concerns into consideration, and to return to dialogue at a future date. World Faith Ouagadougou is working hard to make that happen by continuing to cultivate relationships with ministerial officials and talking about these issues with the local press.
