A generation ago, a bomb scare did two things: It interrupted a service on the eve of Yom Kippur at Temple Beth El of Boca Raton, but it also grew a relationship with neighboring Joan of Arc Catholic Church, which hosted the Jewish congregation that night.

That relationship grew into Interfaith Weekend, celebrating its 25th year this weekend.

“A vital event, one of the most important things we do,” is the assessment of Rabbi Dan Levin of Beth El. “It’s important to understand other religious traditions, because they help us understand our own.
