The Woodlands, TX (Thursday, March 10, 2011) Each Spring, Interfaith of The Woodlands hosts its annual Serving Our Seniors (SOS), and on Saturday, March 5, 2011, more than 350 community seniors were helped when nearly 400 youth, civic group and corporate volunteers assisted them through various home projects.

“I truly love this program as we together help our community neighbors,” said Dr. Ann Snyder, President and CEO of Interfaith of The Woodlands. “I would like to thank The Woodforest Charitable Foundation for once again sponsoring this wonderful event. It makes an incredible difference in our service area.”

The Woodforest Charitable Foundation presented a $5,000 check the morning of “SOS” which provided funding for this year’s program.

At the independent homes, volunteers performed a number of projects and several major repairs. At one site, volunteers helped a senior with plumbing issues within his home and yard work. At several other sites, volunteers helped to repair damaged fencing and performed house cleaning.
