For as long as the Great Falls Ecumenical Council has been staging its annual community prayer breakfast, all of the guest speakers have been of the Christian faith.

But this past weekend, the council turned the corner in its spiritual journey and welcomed a guest speaker from another religion: Islam.

After filling their stomachs with specially-prepared omelets and other breakfast food, the three dozen or so attendees at the breakfast treated themselves to a special message from Sister Farhanahz Ellis, Interfaith and Outreach director of the All Dulles Area Muslim Society Center.

That message focused on the common human nature that everyone shares regardless of their beliefs, and the need for divine guidance and assistance in our lives.
