ACCOMAC , Va.– The Accomack Interfaith Crisis Council is an all-volunteer organization created to give one-time assistance to families and individuals of Accomack County in a genuine crisis situation.

Its definition of a crisis is an unusual event in a person’s life and not a lifestyle of dependency. It may be the result of death in the family, loss of job, illness, sudden desertion of a spouse or other situations that cause a temporary crisis in the family circumstances.

AICC was founded in 1991 by a group of ministers and concerned individuals from several different area churches who recognized the need for a central place for people to turn when in need of an immediate hand up.
