The United Network of Young (UNOY) recently hosted a research competition, called “The Interplay Towards a Policy Making Exercise.” The challenge was aimed at youth and student teams from different cities in the Netherlands to understand the impact of the European Union’s development policies on (post)conflict countries.
The winner of the competition was Team Peacemakers, consisting of Giovanni Floor and Tiffany Olsen, supported by Obi Daniel from YOUPEDA, Nigeria’s World Faith chapter. They wrote a convincing, well articulated paper rooted in quality research on protracted social conflict in the Niger Delta Region. UNOY will support this team with setting up a good and clear mission on what to advocate for and how to bring the message in Brussels, where they will present their research. YOUPEDA is a youth partner of the United Network of Peacebuilders.
